Dr Tiago Tomaz and colleagues in the New York Times

Dr Tiago Tomaz, the 2013 Fulbright Western Australia Scholar (sponsored by the WA Government and universities) is currently working in Dr Andrew Leakey’s research group at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) to further his research in crop improvement.

The Leakey Research group is focused on plant responses in natural and agricultural ecosystems to global environmental change, adaptation of food and fuel crops to global environmental change and sustainability of biofuel feedstocks, as described on the group’s webpage.

Their collaborative work has recently been highlighted in an article in The New York Times entitled ‘Testing Future Conditions for the Food Chain’ written by Justin Gillis.
