Abstract:

On February 22nd 1967 in Reykjavik, Iceland, Senator Fulbright marked the 10th anniversary of the Fulbright program with a speech on “International Education and the Hope for a Better World”. He laid claim to the humanizing influence of education on world affairs during a time inundated by fear of nuclear weapons, poverty, communism, and tense relations both domestically and overseas.
